ABOUT THE CLASS:

In February-March 2026 join a beginner-friendly, small group class (4–6 participants) to explore abstract painting in a beautiful art studio setting. Each 2-hour session is just $50 per person at my Shirley Street studio. Classes are usually held on Thursdays from 4–6PM and Saturdays from 2–4PM.

Each of my art classes begins with a short introduction to modern art history. I share a simple story about a famous artist, their life, and a few of their well-known paintings.

Then, inspired by one of these works, we create a small artwork that reflects a part of the artist’s style. For example, when we study Vincent van Gogh, we don’t try to copy a full painting. Instead, we paint one or two sunflowers and use techniques that help us understand and feel his unique way of painting.

By offering an art class for beginners in Naples, I believe that creating art gives everyone a valuable chance to explore a new intellectual activity, which becomes especially important as we age.

Painting stimulates Brain Activity: Focusing on different colors, shades, and textures activates various parts of the brain, which enhances cognitive functions. This  stimulation can help keep the mind sharp, improving memory and attention as we age.

We’ll begin with a 12x12-inch blank canvas and create an ABSTRACT PORTRAIT using acrylic paints, a brush, and a palette knife. All materials are provided, and complimentary coffee and tea will be available.

Future classes will focus on various beginner-friendly themes, including floral painting, palm trees, abstract boats, ocean wall art, and simple portraits. Upcoming themes and schedules will be posted here on the classes page of my website.
